General Information

Reporting an Accident

In the event emergency personnel have been called to respond to an accident or injury, it is imperative that the Management Office at the building be notified. The Management Office can then secure an elevator, if applicable, and direct emergency personnel to the scene.

Power Failures

In the event of a power failure, please turn off all electrical equipment to lessen the load on circuits when power is restored.

Notify the Management Office if you are aware of any hazardous conditions.

Remain calm. If the power is off for any length of time, contact your supervisor for direction. If evacuation is ordered, please refer to the evacuation procedures in this manual.

Do not attempt to use the elevator during a power outage.

Elevators

If available, in the event you are stuck in an elevator, remain calm. Each elevator is equipped with an alarm and a telephone. The telephone is programmed to automatically dial the elevator repair company.

Disabled Personnel

Employers with disabled personnel must have a plan to assist such employees in the event of an emergency. Elevators may not be available, and the Management Office may not be able to assist during a large-scale evacuation.

Evacuation

Proceed to the nearest fire exit.
