Fire Emergency Plan
IN CASE OF FIRE
CALL 911 & EVACUATE
Call 911, and if safe and possible to do so, evacuate to the nearest stairwell located at the east end and west end of the tower. Floor Wardens shall select the safest area for relocation on the basis of the location of the fire and any information available. The Floor Warden should initially check to see if the stairway door is hot to touch; then check the environment in the stairwell prior to entry. If it is affected by smoke, an alternate stairwell should be selected.
ON THE WAY OUT OF THE SUITE CLOSE THE DOORS
Isolate the fire behind closed doors. When leaving any area always close doors behind you regardless of whether it is the fire area or not.
RELOCATE
Relocation should be to designated evacuation areas. Follow the direction of the City Fire Department, Building Management, or designated Floor/Suite Wardens the elevators will not be available for use. If descent to lower floors is not possible, then relocate all persons by stairwells to a location at least two floors above.
A fire alarm will continue to sound until an investigation of the floor by the building staff determines that the alarm is false or until the fire department investigates and silences the alarm.
