Emergency Information and Organization

It is recommended that your office have a Fire and Suite Warden. These parties are responsible for implementing emergency procedures.

Each tenant has a Floor Response Team, which includes a Floor/Suite Warden and Monitors:

Floor Warden and Suite Warden:

  • Responsible for overseeing occupant instruction, supervising and ensuring safe and complete evacuation during a fire, other emergency or fire drill; coordinate duties of their Floor Response team; and report to the Fire Safety Director during an emergency.

Monitors Single Tenant Floors:

  • Stairwell Monitors - In charge of checking safety of designated emergency exits and for leading occupants to Safe Refuge Areas.
  • Traffic Monitors - Will direct occupants and visitors away from elevators and to the emergency exits.
  • Search Monitors - To search floor area for occupants unaware of emergency or in need of assistance.

Monitors Multi Tenant Floors (Each Tenant):
